Classes at Harlequins are paid monthly by direct debit. Fees are calculated for the 36 weeks of the year that we deliver classes and divided into 12 equal monthly payments. Spreading the cost of your classes makes them so much more affordable. For example, Junior Theatre Arts, the total for the year would be £420 divide this by 12 and the monthly payment would be £35.The very first payment we take will be for 2 months plus a £20 registration fee meaning we always have a month’s payment in hand. Following this every subsequent payment will be the calculated monthly amount. So, in this case the first payment would be for £90 and every subsequent payment would be £35. Your registration fee includes a Harlequins T shirt which you can collect after you have set up you direct debit. If you join half way through a month we adjust the payment so you don’t pay for any classes you didn’t attend.

On the first day at Harlequins we will pair up new students with a buddy, they will show them where to go and look after them for the lesson. Students can wear clothes they are comfortable to move in and jazz shoes, trainers or bare feet for the trial. If trying acro fusion they can wear a leotard and shorts, if trying dance tech they can bring ballet and tap shoes but if you don’t have these at home don’t worry. If staying for 1.5 hours students can also bring a snack. Please note we have a nut free policy.
We have a set uniform for each dance style, which is designed to help children move freely and safely while maintaining a professional appearance which is outlined below:
We are incredibly proud to be members of the IDTA (international dance teachers association). Students are given the opportunity to take their IDTA freestyle exams regualrty. We are pleased to say we have a 100% pass rate with students often receiving top marks. The exam criteria is taught in class making the exams low pressure.
If dance isn’t your thing we also offer private LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) exams
LAMDA is one of the UK’s oldest and most respected awarding bodies. They have been offering practical examinations in communication and performance subjects for over 130 years. In this time, their qualifications have helped hundreds of thousands of candidates of all ages and abilities to develop lifelong skills.
LAMDA exams are about achievement – recognising and rewarding the endeavours of each individual – but they are also about empowerment. Their ultimate aim is to provide all people with the opportunity to develop the life skills they need to be a success: attributes such as self-confidence and the ability to communicate clearly and present ideas.
LAMDA has been recognised as an awarding organisation by Ofqual, the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulations in England, and the corresponding regulatory authorities in Wales (DfES) and Northern Ireland (CCEA). For more information, please send us an email info@harlequins-theatre.com
Our students have the opportunity to participate in an end-of-year production, which showcases the skills they have learned throughout the year. We also offer opportunities to perform at community events and festivals. Family and friends are also invited into class at least one per term to watch what the students have been working on.
Harlequins runs weekly classes 36 weeks of the year (during term time) in Bromley, Eltham, Anerley, Sydenham and Sevenoaks. To find out our current term dates please scroll to the bottom on the home page.
